How to Apply For a Skilled Worker Visa?

Canada is one of the world's places, allowing many foreign nationals to look for job opportunities. Canada has a solid and stable economy with secure workplaces, competitive wages, and numerous openings for professional growth and progress. Moreover, working in this country is a significant initial step for individuals looking to shift to Canada permanently.

Perks Of Having a Job in Canada

Holding a job in Canada can be very beneficial. Canada's labor policies ensure that workstations have a high level of safety and that all workers obey specific rules and regulations for ensuring the health of their employees. Besides, the salaries are competitive, and international workers are needed, by rule, to be given wages equal to their Canadian counterparts.

The job seeker visa for Canada also lets the partner and children of the workers go with them to Canada. Another core advantage for those interested in moving to Canada as permanent citizens is that by acquiring Canadian employment experience, an immigrant might increase the eligibility for many Canadian permanent residency plans such as Express Entry, Provincial Nominee Programs, Quebec Immigration Programs, etc.

To apply for a Canada Skilled Worker Visa, you need to meet the eligibility criteria for one of the 3 federal skilled immigrant categories.

How to Be Eligible to Apply For a Skilled Worker Visa Through the Express Entry System?

  1. Meet the eligibility requirements for any of the three plans.

  2. Get yourself registered with the Government of Canada’s Job Bank or hold a genuine employment offer.

  3. Take an authorized language exam and meet the minimum language requirements for the plan you are eligible for.

  4. Obtain an ECA or Educational Credential Assessment. This is not needed if you hold employment experience in a skilled trade or have a recent work experience of one year in Canada.

You can even use an online tool such as Come to Canada to check if you meet these requirements.

The Application Procedure

When Will the Express Entry Profile Terminate?

Your EE profile is valid for one year after the submission. If you do not attain an invitation to apply for PR within one year, you can re-submit your profile.
